Rocky Mountain National Park

Three National Parks grace the landscape and enliven the mind near Little America Cheyenne. One National Park, one National Monument and one National Historic Site. All are within 115 miles from Little America. If you don't mind the drive, Chimney Rock National Historic Site and Agate Fossil Beds National Monument are both within 150 miles.

Rocky Mountain National Park showcases the amazing diversity of landscape and life found within the Rocky Mountain Range. There are 359 miles of trails for use ranging from backpacking to horseback

riding or a simple stroll, fishing opportunities, plenty of wildlife to watch for and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing during the winter.

Scotts Bluff National Monument preserves the memories forged by the pioneers who traveled the historic Oregon, California and Mormon Trails. A collection of watercolor paintings of the American West by William Henry Jackson is on display in the visitor's center.

At the Fort Laramie National Historic Site one can learn of it's transformation from it's early days as a fur trading post to its creation into a major military post. Many consider Fort Laramie to be a major force in shaping the West as we know it today.

The variety of landscapes and activities between the three parks is sure to please everyone. For more information about these and other National Parks around Little America Cheyenne, visit the Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska pages on the National Park Service website.
